Welcome to the British Virgin Islands, home of an amazing unique sixty islands. This beautiful group of cays and islands is just east of Puerto Rico and is a United Kingdom colony. The British Virgin Islands are glorious and they provide visitors with all the tropical beauty, pristine waters, and adventure they seek.

The 60 islands of BVI were previously called the 'Virgin Islands' until the split from American territory in 1917. The capital of the British Virgin Islands is Road Town which is located on Tortola island. Tortola is the largest island which lies approximately 12 miles long and 3 miles wide. The main islands of BVI, and the most recognized globally are Anegada, Virgin Gorda, Tortola, and Jost Van Dyke. There are around 18,000 people living on the island of Tortola. The main language is English in the British Virgin Islands. Many tourists from all over the globe visit the spectacular islands of BVI.
